Practice news
New Surgery Times for Full Time Workers.
We are offering new extended hours from 30th April 2008
These evening sessions will be for pre booked routine appointments . We hope that they will be of great benefit to those patients who find access difficult during our core hours of Monday to Friday 08.15 am-6.30pm. The evenings initially will be Wednesday and Thursday each week from 6.30-8.30pm.
MINOR ILLNESS
Please be considerate in your booking of appointment for minor illness. We are experiencing a high number of appointments for sore throats, coughs, colds and tummy upsets of only one or two days duration. These ailments are usually quick to resolve. Simple remedies and advice is always available from your local pharmacy .GP's would only like to see you if the symptoms persist for more than several days, there will be no quick instant cure for these episodes of feeling off colour. If you are elderely with other chronic disease (diabetes or asthma or coronary problems etc )and would like to speak to the GP in the first day or so of an illness please tell the reception of your concerns and you will be put on the GP list. Likewise small children with concerns will always be seen . Normal fit adults should self treat for several days before seeing the GP.
We cannot afford to have wasted appointments. Please make sure you cancel unwanted appointments. From January 2008 we have taken a rather stricter view of this problem. If you fail to attend for an appointment without explanation ,please expect to recieve a letter . If you have three consecutive failed attendances we will ask you to find another practice.
